Zelgor

Building the Next Level of Interactive Entertainment

Introduction

Zelgor is an interactive entertainment company launching a unique media franchise, called the Noobs. An army of outlandish aliens exploring the Universe, the Noobs look to follow the path of Angry Birds, a billion dollar IP, by disrupting the $150B Global Games Industry. As the Noobs rise in popularity, they plan to invade the world of shows, movies, merchandise, and beyond.

Backed by famous venture capitalist Tim Draper, co-creator of Guitar Hero, Kai Huang, and the founders of napster, the Zelgor team brings real-world experience building successful games like The Sims, Bioshock Infinite, and Dungeons & Dragons Online, and more.

Market Opportunity

Market

In 2018, video games eclipsed TV and streaming to become the most profitable sector of digital entertainment. Mobile games, in particular, are the most prominent and fastest-growing sector of the over $159B Video Games Industry, due to many high-profile success stories. Games like Candy Crush Saga, Clash of Clans, and Pokémon Go, have individually generated over a billion dollars in lifetime revenue. At its peak, Pokémon Go brought in as much as $2.5 million in a single day. Each of the companies behind these games reached multi-billion dollar valuations within two years of launching only a single game.

“The global games industry [is] projected to be worth a quarter of a trillion dollars by 2023.”

- VentureBeat

Zelgor

Zelgor is using the world of mobile games as a launch pad for our first media franchise, the Noobs. Rovio used this strategy to turn the Angry Birds franchise into 4.5 billion game downloads across 12 games, 1.8 billion consumer products sold, and a $500M box office movie franchise. In similar fashion, we’ve positioned the Noobs to leverage success on mobile by expanding into merchandise, shows, movies, and more.

We combine the unique feel of the Noobs with mobile games that are designed to instantly engage users yet also providing long term goals and social experiences. By introducing them to the world through mobile games, we’re putting the Noobs on the fastest path to becoming a multi-billion dollar media franchise. As they rise in popularity, Zelgor will be uniquely positioned to rapidly grow our business by launching the Noobs into other forms of entertainment while also creating new original media franchises with similar potential.

Noobs in Space

Noobs in Space

Our first game, Noobs in Space, is the world’s introduction to the Noobs IP. Led by their outlandish leader, Major Noob, the Noobs are perpetually flying around the universe, exploring new planets, and dodging wacky obstacles along the way. Players collect and purchase new Noobs, UFOs, outfits, and additional digital goods as they explore the Universe.

NoobTubes

Noobtubes

A natural sequel to Noobs in Space, NoobTubes is the story of the Noobs discovering Earth. The game connects to the real world and enables players to battle over territories like AT&T Stadium, the Eiffel Tower, and even your backyard. The battles are highly immersive and spectator friendly, giving them a more competitive, Esport-like potential.

Business Model

Our goal is to build games with a strong life-time value, while at the same time generating revenue in an effective but non-intrusive manner. Zelgor games are free to download, which makes it easy for anyone to try them out and share the fun with their friends. Within each game, players can spend money on virtual items like new Noobs, UFOs, costumes, and other fun virtual goods.

As the Noobs IP continues to grow in popularity, we’ll expand our games to additional gaming consoles (PC, Xbox, Playstation) and expand our content into other multimedia platforms, including TV and movies.

    Zelgor 2022 Year in Review

    Hello Netcapitalists!

Zelgor has been working tirelessly throughout 2022 to get the Noobiverse ready for a grand opening. After our initial test launch, we learned a tremendous amount about the game, including what was working and what we wanted to improve prior to launch. We recognized that in order to maximize the fun factor, we needed to push toward easier gameplay for new players with a focus on more frequent small wins and incremental progress. In a nutshell, we needed to make the game friendlier to Noobs! Read all about it in our latest investor update here: https://zelgor.com/Investor-Update.pdf

Zelgor reaches over 10,000 downloads in Noobs...

Zelgor reaches over 10,000 downloads in Noobs in Space Stability Test.

Hello Netcapitalists! We’re excited to share that we’ve successfully completed the third stability test of Noobs in Space. We conducted the most recent phase of testing last month in India over a ten-day span, generating over 10,000 downloads. The purpose of this most recent test was to evaluate the game’s stability over a wide variety of devices along with its scalability. Our back-end technology held up incredibly well and we’re quite pleased with the results. You can read more about our success here:

    https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20211208005193/en/Netcapital-Inc.-Portfolio-Company-Zelgor-Games-Completes-Third-Successful-Stability-Test-of-First-Mobile-Game-Advances-Product-Toward-Official-Launch

After the success of our third and final stability test, we turn our focus now towards the soft launch. The soft launch is where we’ll release the latest version of the game in a test market like Canada. The primary goal of this stage is to fine-tune the game mechanics based on user feedback, retention, and spending patterns of our in-game store.

We’ve collected some incredible feedback and seen some fascinating results thanks to all of those who’ve played via early access.

From all of us at Zelgor, we offer a huge thank you to all of those who have played Noobs in Space so far! We have some incredibly fun and exciting plans for this game after collecting everyone’s feedback, and we look forward to sharing more updates with you soon.

Zelgor Inc Successfully Sells Out Raise on Netcapital

Zelgor is thrilled to say that we successfully sold out our Netcapital Offering. Thank you to the over 1,300 investors who have backed us this round. We want you to know that we have been hard at work throughout the offering (and since the close of course!) getting the Noobiverse up and running so that soon all of you may be able to join us there.

The sold-out offering headlines an eventful summer for us at Zelgor, which included launching an initial stability test of our first game, Noobs in Space. We’ve also conducted a second stability test since the offering’s close, driving tens of thousands to Google Play’s Early Access Store.

Zelgor’s focus this summer has been on building our tools and technology infrastructure to scale up with more users while collecting and incorporating feedback from Early Access testers. Soon we plan to launch our third and final stability test, our largest yet!

We’ve also been hard at work iterating on the next version of Noobs in Space with the goal of creating content that is more fun, engaging, and motivating to explore and making it accessible for as many Noobs as possible.

We look forward to sharing some of the great new features and content we’ve created as well as the results of our third stability test with all of you soon. Stay tuned!

Zelgor launches first mobile game stability...

Zelgor launches first mobile game stability test in India and reaches thousands of downloads in first 48 hours.

Zelgor is thrilled to announce the successful Stability Test Launch of our first mobile game, Noobs in Space, in India, reaching thousands of people in the first week! The game launched in the Google Play Early Access Store in India at the beginning of June, and we’re thrilled at the response we’ve seen so far. We hit our first weekly download milestone in under 48 hours, which we believe speaks to how well the Noobs resonate with new audiences. News of our milestone achievement even made its way into Yahoo Finance.

Through this launch, we aim to test how the game functions on various devices, identify bugs, and test feature functionality and likability. Launching our first Stability Test is a key step towards Zelgor’s official launch of Noobs in Space. The game is currently available for download on Google Play’s Early Access Store in India and we will continue to conduct a series of Stability Tests throughout July.

Hi Netcapital Investors! With 2020 being such...

    Hi Netcapital Investors!

With 2020 being such a chaotic year, it’s easy to forget about what looms on the horizon: the pending Noobs invasion! If you’ve missed out on some of our exciting developments over the summer, here’s a recap:

We hired former Warner Brothers developer and OtherSide Entertainment lead engineer, Will Teixeira, to be our Mad Scientist and Lead Engineer! Will is a rockstar who went from working on Dungeons & Dragons Online to leading the launch of multiple titles at OtherSide Entertainment for Xbox One, PS4, Mobile VR, and Oculus.

We also recruited Andres Gonzalez, to be our Lead Designer. Most notably, Andres was the Lead Combat Designer for Bioshock Infinite, which won over 75 awards, is rated a 10/10 on Steam, and sold 11 million copies in the first two years of release.

Both are world-class and it is a dream come true to have them on our team. Each had worked with our Chief Product Officer, Phil Fogerite, at Warner Brothers and Ghost Story Games prior to working with us, and felt inspired to join the Noobs before they take over the Universe.

The impact that these two have had so far has been enormous. As a result, we just updated our page on Netcapital to show off the progress we’ve made since they joined. Check out the updated video and amazing art we’ve added!

We have even more exciting news in the coming days that we’re looking forward to sharing with you as both games move closer to launch.
